Thanksgiving is the ultimate food + family holiday, and so it only stands to reason you would want your dog to be involved in a big way. It helps that many of the feast’s staple ingredients are actually pretty pup friendly, such as lean turkey, green beans, and sweet potatoes. Well, as long as you keep your dog’s servings simple and unseasoned — no skin, bones, cream of mushroom soup or mini marshmallows, of course.

So what about dessert? Clearly, pie shouldn’t be a regular part of your dog’s diet (sad but true for us too), yet when offered as a special occasion treat, this is a recipe you’ll both be thankful for.

DIRECTIONS

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly spray the wells of a mini muffin tin with baking spray.

Step 2

Combine the oat flour and applesauce in a bowl, then place a heaping tablespoon of the mixture in each of the muffin tin wells. Use a spoon to evenly press the mixture down and up the sides of each well. Bake for 8 minutes. Let cool at room temperature, and remove from the muffin tins.
